Fill layers are divided into three types solid colour fill, gradient fill, and pattern fill. A fill layer has a parameter (for example, the gradient), and it will generate a full-width rectangle filled with the corresponding colour, gradient, or pattern.
Of course, there are numerous methods for creating a layer filled with the colour, gradient, or pattern. For example, you could create an empty layer and paint it with the colour using the Brush tool. Fill layers have a number of advantages. They have a unique thumbnail that helps you understand the purpose of the layer. Fill parameters (colour, gradient, or pattern) can be easily changed. When you change the canvas size, the content of the fill layers is automatically regenerated to fill the new canvas.
To add a new fill layer, go to the top menu and select Layer – New Fill Layer. The fill parameters can be changed in the Properties panel (the panel will show up after double-clicking the thumbnail of the fill layer).

Rasterize in Photopea: Rasterizing layers
Each layer must contain pixel data, which will be used to combine the layer with other layers to create the final image. However, these pixel data can be generated in a variety of ways.
Layers within PSD files can be divided into two types: direct (“regular”) raster layers and undirect raster layers. The pixel information is the only information available for direct raster layers. The pixel information for undirect raster layers is generated from some other information.
Smart Objects (whose pixels are generated from the source image + position + transformation), fill layers (whose pixels are generated from the fill parameters), and text layers are examples of undirect layers (pixels generated from some text and its parameters). We are unable to perform pixel-specific operations on these layers (e.g. draw into them with a Brush, or blur a part of the layer with a Blur tool).
We must rasterize an undirect layer in order to convert it to a regular raster layer (right-click – Rasterize, or Layer – Rasterize). Smart objects will lose their connection to the source image, and text layers will lose their text information, leaving only pixel data.

Photopea can do it automatically; the process is known as bitmap vectorization or bitmap tracing. After we’ve opened our raster image (or selected the appropriate layer in a layered image), we’ll go to Image – Vectorize Bitmap. We’ll see a unique Vectorizer window. The original image is on the left, and the vector image is on the right
